Native Seedlings Project🧑‍🌾

7/15/26 11:00am @ MGTCC- 🌸 What Plants Can Do — Harvest, Seed Dispersal & Plant Medicine intro

14314 Brooks St, Kaleva, MI

Service Description

We're heading into the garden to harvest, and then we're asking the question: what happens if you just... don't? What if you let a plant flower, go to seed, and do its thing? Youth will get hands-on with real seeds from Michigan plants, and discover the genius ways plants travel the world without legs. We'll do a full seed dispersal activity and even get a bucket of water involved. 💦 Then we're opening the door to something really cool: plant medicine. We'll explore what Michigan's native plants can actually DO — think echinacea tea, elderberry syrup, plantain salve for bug bites, and more. These aren't just pretty plants. They're useful ones. ✅ Hands-on harvesting in our own garden ✅ Seed dispersal activity with real seed samples ✅ Intro to Michigan native plant medicine ✅ All ages welcome This is part of our ongoing MAEOE grant project — we built something together, and now we get to watch it come alive. 🐝
