Service Description

Join us for an afternoon hike through the Forest School land as we put on our naturalist eyes (and ears!) and hunt for the first signs of the season. We'll use our tools, our senses, and our curiosity to discover who and what is waking up around us. 🐍 Under-Rock & Log Investigations Early spring is perfect for finding snakes, salamanders, and invertebrates warming up under rocks and logs. We'll use snake scopes to peek safely into crevices before reaching in — and always replace logs gently after! 🌱 Plant ID with Plant Wave Use the Plant Wave device to listen to plants vibrations during the season change! 🐦 Bird Watch with Binoculars March and April bring migrating and returning species. Pair up and track how many species or calls you can find, then compare lists at the end of the hike! 🪵 Decomposer Detectives Find a rotting log and use our scope cameras to document who's living in and on it — fungi, mosses, grubs, bark beetles. Great for journaling and connecting to the magic of nutrient cycles. What to Bring Sturdy, mud-ready boots · weather-appropriate layers · a nature journal & pencil · water bottle · rain gear if needed Spring doesn't announce itself all at once — it whispers first. Come listen with us.
